SINGAPORE (Sept 5): AEM Holdings has swung back to profitability after Loke Wai Sun, founder and managing director, Novo Tellus Capital Partners spent the last four years turning it around. Now the company is looking for growth through its 21% stake in Novoflex.

Despite being an outsourced assembler and tested of chips embedded in credit and debit cards, the real potential lies in Novoflex’s technology to produce low-cost SIM cards.

“The manufacturing process is five steps versus 12 steps,” says Loke, explaining why Novoflex’s SIM cards will be cheaper, “it should be quite disruptive,” he adds.
