SINGAPORE (Oct 18): Polls are now showing Hillary Clinton extending her lead over her opponent Donald Trump, with prediction markets indicating that Clinton has an 83% probability of winning the presidential election.

In fact, some polls - which include historical data in its calculations - added that the Democrats could win a majority in the Senate. On the other hand, the Democrats need over 30 seats to win a majority in the House, but are only projected to win between 10 to 15 seats.

How does Clinton’s lead affect the US economy? For one thing, Citi Research analyst Tina Fordham says that the increase in political and policy uncertainty could reduce real GDP growth per quarter by 1% to 1.25%.
