Hong Kong stocks jump but Shanghai closes down
HONG KONG (May 27): Hong Kong stocks reversed early losses to jump almost 1% by the close, but Shanghai ended slightly lower on continued worries about the weak domestic economy.
The Hang Seng Index added 0.88%, or 179.66 points, to 20,576.77.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index edged down 0.05%, or 1.39 points, to 2,821.05 while the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, eased 0.10%, or 1.89 points, to 1,807.04.
