SINGAPORE (Dec 21): Sembcorp Industries said on Wednesday that its subsidiary Sembcorp North-West Power Company has secured financing for the Sirajganj power project in Bangladesh.

International Finance Corporation, Clifford Capital and CDC Group will each shell out US$103 million ($149 million) towards the project’s total finance debt. IFC is a member of the World Bank Group, while Clifford is a Singapore-based infrastructure project financing company, and CDC is the UK government’s development financing firm.

Sembcorp North-West Power Company, a joint venture between Sembcorp Utilities and Bangladesh’s state-owned North-West Power Generation Company, will develop the power plant.
