STI closes 0.4% higher at 2,800.95
SINGAPORE (Nov 7): The Straits Times Index gained 0.4% to close at 2,800.95, cautiously moving higher after the FBI found no new evidence to charge Democratic Party presidential nominee Hillary Clinton.
Results are also in focus during the session, with this week looking to be a busy one in the corporate calendar. Yangzijiang Shipbuilding, one of the better-performing large-caps, closed 6.9% at 77.5 cents, while Genting Singapore gained 5.3% to close at 89.5 cents.
Singapore Post, which is paying a lower dividend after disappointing earnings, fell 7.0% to $1.535. PACC Offshore, which was down during most of the session after reporting that it swung to a loss in the last quarter, ended flat at 31.5 cents.
