SINGAPORE (Sept 30): Yuen Kuan Moon believes Singapore Telecommunications has been able to maintain its leading position on its home turf by constantly looking for ways to satisfy its customers.

These days, however, just about everything Singtel does is interpreted by the market as a reaction to the looming possibility that a fourth telco will soon open for business.

“We know it is inevitable that people will link anything we do now with the potential threat of a fourth operator. They will [find] an association just [from] timing,” Yuen tells The Edge Singapore.
