SINGAPORE (Dec 27): The Competition Commission of Singapore (CCS) is asking the public to provide feedback on a proposed joint venture (JV) by CAE International Holdings and Singapore Airlines (SIA).

The JV will establish, develop and operate a commercial flight training centre that will offer type-rated, recurrent and conversion pilot training on certain Boeing aircrafts.

CCS wants to assess if the move would infringe section 54 of the Competition Act (Cap 50B), which prohibits mergers that may be expected to result in a substantial lessening of competition within the aircraft pilot training market in Singapore.
