SINGAPORE (Apr 11): SIA Engineering Company (SIA EC) has signed an in-flight entertainment and connectivity (IFEC) maintenance agreement with Thales, the multinational tech company that designs and builds electrical systems as well as provides services for the aerospace, defense, transportation and security markets.

Under the agreement, SIA EC’s parent company Singapore Airlines (SIA) will be using Thales’ AVANT IFE system and Ka-band connectivity solution for its fleet of A350 XWB aircraft configured for medium-haul operations.

Thales will support the SIA fleet for an initial term of 10 years and provide it a scope of services that includes line maintenance, software & media content loading, and support.
