Leading brandy and whisky group, Emperador EMI , has reported net income to owners (or earnings) of 2.3 billion pesos ($55.0 million) for the 1QFY2023 ended March 31, 10% higher y-o-y.
The group’s revenue rose by 26% y-o-y to 15.6 billion pesos.
“Our business continues to be strong. We are happy to report a record first quarter net income of 2.3 billion pesos, coming from three consecutive banner performances in FY2020, FY2021 and FY2022,” says Emperador’s president Winston Co.
“Greater China and North America saw continued growth in the first quarter and so did our travel retail business on account of increased air travel. Ultimately, the strength of our business comes from having a compelling whisky and brandy product portfolio. For instance, our single malt whiskies are increasingly becoming more accessible and popular across the globe,” he adds.
As at 11.05am, shares in Emperador are trading flat at 50 cents.
