SINGAPORE (Nov 15): Singapore prime minister Lee Hsien Loong has been invited, and will attend, China’s second Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation in 2019.

A joint statement between the governments of Singapore and China was issued on Wednesday during Premier Li Keqiang’s official visit to Singapore from 12 Nov to 16 Nov.

Aside from reaffirming positive relations between the two countries, both sides notably agreed that co-operation along the Belt and Road initiative is a “new highlight of Singapore-China relations”.
