While 59% of developers in Asia Pacific (APAC) claim to love their jobs, only half say they will be with their current company a year from now.
Singapore developers also have the lowest satisfaction with their personal productivity (15%) and team productivity (32%) among 860 developers surveyed worldwide for OutSystem’s Developer Engagement Report: Are Your Developers Happy or Halfway Out The Door? report.
“Asia Pacific has become a major technology hub, and has gone beyond hiring the right talent with the relevant expertise and knowledge required to meet their digital transformation and innovation goals,” says Mark Weaser, vice president for APAC at OutSystems.
“Leaders have recognised the need to turn to innovative digital solutions [like low-code] that will optimise resources, alleviate workloads, and supercharge productivity. With this in mind, they can ease the friction, toil, and resource issues that continually test developer motivation and frustration,” he adds.
According to the report, low-code users experience greater satisfaction around workload, shorter work weeks, more career growth, and fewer other factors that contribute to burnout.
More than 71% of low-code users said they were able to stick to the typical 40-hour work week, compared to only 44% of traditional developers. Additionally, 60% of low-code developers indicate they are happy with their salary and benefits, compared to 40% of traditional developers.

Moreover, low-code developers have received an average of 3.5 job promotions at their current company, while traditional developers have been promoted just 2.0 times.
