SINGAPORE (April 6): Law don Tan Cheng Han has been appointed chairman of Singapore Exchange Regulation, the unit hived off from the exchange to focus solely on regulatory matters.

Professor Tan, former dean of the National University of Singapore law faculty, is also chairman of the Centre for Law & Business at the faculty.

“A regulatory company independent of SGX, yet pragmatic and innovative, while also attuned to market developments, is a development the market is closely watching,” says Professor Tan.
