SINGAPORE (June 8): Australian authorities have approved a request from Malaysia to extradite Sirul Azhar Umar, who previously was a bodyguard to ex-Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak, said The Guardian, citing unidentified sources.

Sirul is expected to return to Malaysia within a month.

Sirul who was a police officer before joining Najib’s security team, was convicted and sentenced for the murder of Altantuya Saariibuu. He then escaped to Australia in 2014, but was on the Interpol's red alert. He was then arrested in Queensland for having an expired tourist visa.
