SINGAPORE (Dec 12): Malaysia’s OldTown has received a RM1.47 billion ($487 million) or RM3.18 per share takeover offer from global coffeemaker Jacobs Douwe Edberts BV (JDE).

OldTown is the operator of OldTown White Coffee chain, which has about 232 outlets that are mostly in Malaysia.

The offer was made through JDE’s indirect wholly-owned unit, Jacobs Douwe Egberts Holdings Asia NL BV (JDE Asia).
