SINGAPORE (Sept 25): Ride-hailing operator Ryde will be collaborating with local taxi operator Trans-Cab to add over 3,000 taxis to its platform. This will accelerate Ryde's growth to become the second-largest driver fleet in Singapore, with more than 25,000 drivers across private cars, private hire cars and taxis.
From Oct 1, Ryde will also be the first ride-hailing platform to allow a major taxi fleet to access private hire jobs as well as social carpooling jobs.
With this collaboration, Trans-Cab drivers can access additional earning opportunities through bookings on the Ryde platform, while maintaining their flexibility of picking up street-hail jobs. Drivers will also enjoy flexibility within the system, as they can pick jobs that fit their driving preference and schedules, with both on-demand and advance booking features.
The service fees are 9% for RydePOOL trips and 10% for RydeX ones.
Terence Zou, founder and CEO of Ryde Technologies says, “This is another innovative step in ride-hailing where we facilitate Trans-Cab taxi drivers to pool passengers for social carpooling trips too.”
Teo Kiang Ang of Trans-Cab says, “This opens up new opportunities for us to innovate our services to support our drivers in this rapidly evolving industry. We look forward to the Ryde platform. It offers better services and increased earning to our drivers and a seamless experience for riders.”
