SIA Engineering Company Limited has set up the new Component Services Division (CSD) to grow its component maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) business.
Effective from April 1, all existing component repair and fleet management services, which include inventory technical management services, will be consolidated under CSD.
CSD will focus on growth through acquisition and development of new capabilities, thereby broadening the company’s range of service offerings to airline customers and deepening its partnerships with original equipment manufacturer (OEMs), reads a Feb 11 press release.
SIA Engineering says the formation of CSD will further enhance SIAEC’s portfolio of MRO service offerings to its customers, and complement the company’s network of joint ventures with the component OEMs in Singapore and overseas.
Ng Chin Hwee, SIAEC CEO, says: “As the aviation sector recovers, we are optimistic about the demand outlook and growth for the MRO industry. Within CSD, both component repair services and fleet management services complement each other, especially in the areas of inventory technical management and repair."
He adds: "This new unit and its focus on developing new capabilities and strengthening our partnership network will boost our ability to provide customised and flexible solutions to cater to the needs of our airline customers and OEM partners.”
