SINGAPORE (Apr 2): Environmental engineering firm Sanli Environmental has clinched new contracts in Singapore and Myanmar, worth a total of approximately $12.1 million.

The first series of contracts, worth $7.8 million, were awarded by the Public Utilities Board (PUB) in Singapore for operations and maintenance (O&M) projects over a period of three years starting March 2019.

These will see Sanli involved in the refurbishment of centrifugal pumps in the NEWater Factories and Waterworks, the overhaul of centrifugal pumps, disintegrators and related equipment and maintenance works at various PUB installations, as well as the maintenance of electrical equipment at the Johor Plants.

Next, Sanli also secured two engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contracts from the Myanmar government, worth a total of 4.9 billion Myanmar kyat ($4.3 million).

One of these EPC contracts is for the supply of water meters of various sizes to the local government, while the other is related to the supply of pipes and accessories.

The new contract wins brings the group’s order book up to $198.0 million.

Sanli says the new contracts are expected to contribute to its revenue from the financial year ending March 31, 2020.

“We are happy to have secured more contracts from the PUB, as we believe that this is a testament of their confidence in our capabilities. We are even more excited to have secured two contracts of this size in Myanmar, despite having only established our presence there just over a year ago,” says Sanli CEO Sim Hock Heng.

“We will continue to leverage on our established track record and work towards securing more contracts to grow the business further,” he adds.

Shares in Sanli closed flat at 19.5 cents on Tuesday.
