Yangzijiang Shipbuilding Holdings says it has signed contracts for another 31 vessels with a total contract value of US$1.74 billion ($2.32 billion) on March 5.

The new order wins come slightly less than a month after the Mainboard-listed group secured agreements worth US$1.3 billion for the building and delivery of 29 vessels on Feb 8.

The 31 vessels in the recently-signed contracts comprise four units of 15,000TEU containerships, five units of 12,200TEU containerships, four units of 11,800TEU containerships, four units of 2,600TEU containerships, four units of 1,800TEU containerships and ten units of 82,300DWT bulk carriers.

As the contracts are mainly scheduled for deliveries in 2022 to 2023, they will not have any material impact on the earnings for the FY2021 ending Dec 31.

The group has, year-to-date, secured a total of 60 shipbuilding contracts worth US$3.04 billion.

Shares in Yangzijiang closed flat at $1.08 on March 5.
