SINGAPORE (May 29): CapitaLand will be rolling out a slew of “innovative tech solutions” at its shopping malls as part of its precautionary measures upon Singapore’s Phase 1 reopening.

The enhanced safety measures include coating all high contact areas such as lifts and lift buttons, touch screens, door entrance buttons, and toilet cubicles, with an anti-microbial disinfectant. Treated surfaces can guard against bacteria and viruses for up to six months. These touch points will be cleaned and disinfected every two to three hours.

Other measures include disinfection floormats, which will be placed at key entrances at CapitaLand’s malls, as well as an automated escalator handrail disinfection and contactless lift activation at The Atrium@Orchard.

CapitaLand shares closed 1 cent lower, or 0.3% down, at $2.89 on Thursday.
