SINGAPORE (April 9): Q&M Dental Group is partnering Malaysian private university operator IMU Education Sdn Bhd to develop an artificial intelligence (AI) enhanced dental treatment decision support system to manage common dental problems.
The project will focus on developing AI algorithms to “intelligently assist dental treatment decision-making”.
This will be accomplished by providing treatment plan options “in the best interests of the patients” based on results provided by an AI evidence-based decision tree which IMU will help to develop.
Once completed, Q&M will own the rights to the technology. The AI system may also be used as an adjunct training tool which Q&M may use to continue educating its dentists, says the group in a Monday filing.
A prototype of the project is due to roll out in 4Q19.
Shares in Q&M closed flat at 44 cents on Monday.
