SINGAPORE (Dec 12): SIIC Environment won a new wastewater treatment project with a total investment value of RMB54.6 million ($10.9 million) in Xinglong town, Bayan county, Heilongjiang province, China.
Awarded by the Bayan Water Authority, the project’s service concession arrangement totals 30 years, with the first year allocated for building and construction, and the remaining 29 years for operating and maintenance.
Built on 31,985 sqm of land with a building floor area of 1,806 sqm, the Grade 1A project will have a sludge moisture content of less than 60%, and commence operations with a current design capacity of 10,000 tons/day, which can be scaled up to 40,000 tons/day in the future.
SIIC Environment has incorporated a subsidiary, Bayan County Longjiang Environmental Protection Co. with a registered capital of RMB16.38 million to fulfil the project’s obligations.
Year to date, shares in SIIC Environment are down nearly 44% at 27 cents.
