The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has arrested Perikatan Nasional (PN) chairman and former prime minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, adding that he will be charged in connection to the Jana Wibawa programme on Friday (March 10).
“The MACC confirms that it has arrested [Muhyiddin] at 1.00pm at the MACC Putrajaya headquarters after he appeared to record his statement to complete the final investigation process regarding the Jana Wibawa programme and its related issues,” the anti-corruption body said in a statement on Thursday (March 9).
“Accordingly, the MACC has also received permission from the Attorney General’s Chamber (AGC) to prosecute and charge Muhyiddin in the Kuala Lumpur court on March 10,” it added.
