HSBC Asset Management (HSBC AM) has appointed Charles Li as its head of wholesale business in Asia.

Li’s appointment will be effective Sept 1 and subject to regulatory approval.

The role, which is a newly created one, will see Li responsible for covering all wholesale clients in mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, India, Japan and South East Asia.

Li will also set and deliver the firms’ wholesale strategy in addition to leading the wholesale sales and client servicing teams in the region.

Li will be based in Hong Kong. He will report to Thorsten Michalik, global head of wholesale as well as locally to Daisy Ho, CEO, Asia-Pacific and Hong Kong, HSBC.

"We are thrilled to have Charles join the team. His wide-ranging experience across APAC will be instrumental as we continue to focus on the growth of HSBC AM in the region,” says Michalik.
