SINGAPORE (May 15): Commodities trader Olam International announced $143.9 million in earnings for 1Q17, representing a 26.6% increase from $113.6 million in the previous year.

EBITDA from Edible Nuts, Spices & Vegetable Ingredients segment grew 72.1% to $138 million on improved contribution from the Edible Nuts platform, particularly peanuts, cashew and almonds.

EBITDA from Food Staples & Packaged Foods segment rose 38.0% to $118.3 million as all platforms within the segment recorded improved performance over 1Q16.
