SINGAPORE (Nov 5): Shanghai shone bright on the night of Oct 23 when Cindy Crawford, Nicole Kidman, Alessandra Ambrosio and Liu Shishi were present to lend support to Omega’s Constellation “Manhattan” collection at the Expo I-Pavilion. These four women represent the beauty, sophistication and excellence that the Constellation is known for.

The timepieces feature the Australian white opal and 12 special baguette-cut ruby indexes, whose cut is inspired by the Manhattan skyline, most notably the triangular facets of the Freedom Tower. For the first time for Omega, the iconic bracelets are set with 192 brilliant-cut and four Constellation “star” cut diamonds in a “shooting star” pattern. In total, the watch contains more than one carat of gemstones. The watches are powered by the Omega calibre 4061. This special collection includes four unique models, each characterised by the precious stones used for hour-markings. The Constellation collection has long been Omega’s symbol of precision and elegance in watchmaking. It was the “Manhattan” design in 1982 that introduced the brand’s modern look and today’s collection has enhanced many of its features. The choices available include more dial colours and case sizes in 25mm, 28mm and 29mm.

Rhapsody in white
Rami Malek, who portrays Freddy Mercury in the hit movie Bohemian Rhapsody, is the man of the moment. Will he win an Oscar? Critics are already predicting it. He already has an Emmy for outstanding lead actor in a drama series for Mr Robot. For the world premiere of the movie at Wembley Arena, London, Malek wore a white wool two-button suit, black cotton poplin shirt with white thread embroidery and Nero Alessandro Galet Oxford shoes — all by Berluti.

Crushing it
Chanel’s Matelassé or quilted pattern from the 1920 Coco Crush collection is back. Coco Chanel fell in love with all things equestrian and found the quilted pattern on saddlecloths and horse blankets fascinating. We love the bracelets in 18k beige gold — a tribute to Madame Chanel herself who once said, “I go back to beige because it’s natural”.
