Singapore Design Week
Singapore Design Week (SDW) — the flagship design festival of Singapore and a UNESCO Creative City of Design — now returns with a brand-new vision and immersive suite of experiences which explore design through three perspectives: Design Futures, Design Marketplace and Design Impact.
Held from Sept 16 to 25, SDW, organised by DesignSingapore Council, will bring together more than 50 events and 200 designers over 10 days at various venues across Singapore. These creatives are international heavyweights like Suzy Annetta, Paola Antonelli, Tony Chambers, Yoko Choy, OMA’s David Gianotten and Potato Head.
Highlights include the President’s Design Award Tours, which will offer the public opportunities to experience some of Singapore’s most outstanding and impactful designs first-hand. Design Community Open Doors features 12 ground-up community programmes, including open houses, talks and workshops. Meanwhile, FIND – Design Fair Asia will convene the region’s best talents in the design industry, who will share their ideas and vision in panel discussions and masterclasses and showcase 50 established and emerging designers from Asia.
Little India will also be reimagined as part of the Re-route, a storytelling meets placemaking festival by the award-winning interdisciplinary group Plus Collaboratives. The National Design Centre will also be transformed into N*thing is Possible, a design showcase that celebrates recycling across design, art, architecture, music, food and fashion. Bali-based lifestyle brand Potato Head and OMA conceived this creative takeover.
Fashion enthusiasts might also want to visit Raffles City Shopping Centre, where fashion and creative director Daniel Boey will be presenting #FashTag, an exploratory and celebratory fashion experience focusing on today’s hot topics of sustainability and the metaverse.

Negroni Week
Campari

Campari, the flagship Italian aperitif of Campari Group, pays homage to the world’s best-selling classic cocktail with an annual fundraiser to celebrate Negroni Week. Happening from Sept 12 to 18, participating bars, restaurants and retailers in Singapore will donate a portion of Negroni cocktail sales to their preferred local charities.
The theme for this year’s bespoke Negroni is the ‘Handshake Negroni’ — which takes inspiration from the ‘Bartender Handshake’ — a ritual known within the bartending industry as a way to greet friends, colleagues and customers by serving small-serve cocktails or shots on the house. Based on its origin of community and sharing the love of cocktails, the ‘Handshake Negroni’ functions as a symbolic representation of each bar’s hospitality as a fitting toast to not just the Negroni but to the return to normalcy post-pandemic.
Local bars for Negroni Week include 28 Hong Kong Street, Anti:dote, Atlas, Caffe Fernet, Levant Bar, Nutmeg & Clove, One-Ninety Bar, O/T Bar, Smoke & Mirrors and Trapizza.
For those who want to enjoy your drinks at home, you may want to buy Ready-To-Enjoy bottles of Negroni at selected retailers like Amazon, Shopee, Lazada and Pandamart from now till the end of September. You can also make your own Negroni from scratch by purchasing the Negroni Bundle consisting of Campari, Bickens London Dry Gin and Cinzano Rosso Vermouth.
