Goodwood Park Hotel
Goodwood Park Hotel celebrates the king of fruits with a lavish durian dessert buffet spread and more. The “Dessert Buffet with Mao Shan Wang and D24 Durian Delights” is available till Nov 15 at Coffee Lounge.
In celebration of the hotel’s 120th anniversary, indulge in the line-up of evergreen durian favourites. This year’s dessert buffet features Mao Shan Wang Mousse Cake, Crepe, Swiss Roll and Mini Éclair, along with D24 delights like the D24 Puff and Ice Cream (limited to one serving per guest).
Diners looking for a respite from the durian feast can seek out the Mango Pudding with Crème Chantilly and Fresh Mango, Chocolate Mousse Cake, Cherry Crumble, and Bread and Butter Pudding with Vanilla Sauce.
Prices start from $58.80++ per person, and the dessert buffet is available from 12pm–2.30pm and 6pm–10.30pm.
From now till Nov 30, The Deli will also be offering five treats for takeaway from 11am–7pm: the Mao Shan Wang Crepe ($20 per piece, $128 for 8); Mao Shan Wang Mini Éclairs ($28 for 6, $45 for 10); Mao Shan Wang Mousse Cake ($72 for 500g); D24 Puff ($28 nett for 6, $45 for 10); and D24 Coffee Square ($72 for 1kg).

En Dining
With a new outlet at Capital Tower, En Dining marks its return to Singapore after a four-year hiatus.
En Dining brings with it a Japanese a la carte buffet. Priced at $58++ for adults and $28++ for children aged five to 10, the buffet features signature Okinawan fare, including Moyashi Champuru — traditional pan-fried beansprouts with pork; Goya Champuru — pan-fried bittergourd with pork; Negi Chashu — braised pork slices with leek and spring onion; and Beef Truffle Carpaccio, drizzled with citrus soy sauce.
Aside from the buffet, En Dining also offers lunch sets starting from $14. Diners can choose from the Saba Shio Yaki Set ($14); Premium Beef Katsu Set ($25);
Hokkaido Mixed Fry Set ($20) or Miyazaki Wagyu Yakiniku Jyu Set — featuring Miyazaki wagyu and foie gras with onsen egg on rice ($33).

Singapore Writers Festival 2020

Presented in a digital format for the first time, the 23rd edition of the Singapore Writers Festival (SWF) returns with a lineup of programmes inspired by the theme of “Intimacy”.
Organised by the National Arts Council (NAC), SWF has announced the second wave of its 2020 line-up, featuring Canadian literary titan Margaret Atwood (The Handmaid’s Tale, The Testaments), award-winning journalist and columnist Naomi Klein (The Shock Doctrine, No Logo), acclaimed author Sarah Lewis (The Rise) and Nigerian-American novelist, critic and photographer Teju Cole.
They join previously-announced international headliners, including Pulitzer Prize-winning comic artist Art Spiegelman (Maus) and poets Sharon Olds (Stag’s Leap) and Tracy K Smith (Life on Mars); along with fantasy fiction writer Cassandra Clare (City of Bones), Chinese science fiction writer Liu Cixin (Three-Body Problem) and English author Zadie Smith (White Teeth).

DRAWING withdrawing
Mizuma Gallery Nov 12 to Dec 13
In puppet theatre, a puppeteer creates a certain tension between his puppet and its audience as he builds their relations around the suspension of disbelief.
For a short period of time, as an audience, we willingly depart away from any form of critical thinking in favour of enjoyment. Mizuma Gallery will be hosting “DRAWING withdrawing”, a solo exhibition by Indonesian artist Iwan Effendi, curated by Artati Sirman.
Showing from Nov 12 to Dec 13, this is Effendi’s second solo exhibition at the Gillman Barracks gallery. The Indonesian visual artist and co-artistic director of Papermoon Puppet Theatre showcases his new body of work which represents the phenomenology of the transformative elements of a live performance.
Through drawing and withdrawing, Effendi arrives at a range of exciting mediums that includes printmaking, etching as well as video projection.
