A testament to Cartier’s unique vision, the Les Rééditions timepieces are significant milestones in the brand’s watchmaking legacy. This collection pays homage to its distinctive watch forms and rich heritage — an approach that brilliantly captures the aesthetics of the maison. The Tank Cintrée by Cartier now comes in a platinum version, joining the sought-after Les Rééditions watches among collectors.

Cartier is a well-known luxury brand with a rich watchmaking history, renowned for its classic and elegant timepieces. The company has introduced various collections and models with unique designs and features. This collection is no exception. In 2021, Cartier introduced Les Rééditions with the Pasha Calendrier Perpétuel and the Tank Cintrée in yellow gold, produced in a limited edition of 150 pieces to celebrate the brand’s centenary.

The Pebble watch followed in 2022, celebrating its 50th anniversary alongside Cartier. Today, the focus returns to the Tank Cintrée, a design evolution from the original Tank of 1917, which debuted in 1921, revolutionising the Tank’s rectangular shape through a blend of aesthetics and functionality. This timepiece elegantly embraces the wrist thanks to its curved and slender rounded case.

Cartier offers an even more exclusive version featuring platinum — a prestigious but challenging material to work with — and a cabochon-set ruby on the winding crown. The choice of materials is particularly fitting, as it commemorates the 100th anniversary of the Tank Cintrée watch in platinum. The case has been meticulously refined to a remarkable 6.03 mm thickness, housing a manual wound movement, the calibre 9780 MC.

Traditional Cartier elements such as rail tracks, Roman numerals, apple-shaped blued hands, an “eggshell” dial, and a pin buckle all showcase the brand’s distinctive watchmaking craftsmanship, reaffirming the Tank Cintrée’s place within Cartier’s illustrious heritage.

The finishing touch on this exceptional creation, produced in a limited edition of 150 numbered pieces, is the interplay of finishes on the brancards — polished on the vertical and matte on the horizontal surfaces, adding an exquisite dimension to the watch’s design.

A total of 150 numbered units of this timepiece will be manufactured. It is available for purchase at $55,000.
