Hermès elevates time-telling into an emotional journey that goes beyond a mere object as it invites you into a world that encourages moments of reflection.

The Slim d’Hermès Pocket Mysterious Rider watch features intricate details such as a white gold case with an enamelled dial portraying a biker on a motorcycle, crafted using the champlevé enamel technique. This intricate process involves carving tiny cells in the metal, filling them with coloured glass powders mixed with natural oils, and subjecting them to multiple firings at high temperatures to lock in the pigments.

Each layer of enamel applied to the dial is meticulously dried and fired before the hand-painted red numerals and hour-markers are added. Powering the Slim d’Hermès Pocket Mysterious Rider is the Manufacture Hermès H1950 ultra-thin mechanical self-winding movement.

Complementing the watch is a strap and pouch in matte Rouge H alligator leather, crafted in alignment with Hermès' saddlery and leatherwork expertise.

Those familiar with this design will recognise that it has been inspired by the Mysterious Rider silk scarf motif by illustrator and designer Viktor Hachmang. A finalist in the Grand Prix du Carré Hermès, Hachmang, a Dutch artist, merges vibrant, futuristic graphics with elements of Japanese art and pop-cultural influences from comic books. His use of bold colours and geometric motifs depicts the rider on a motorcycle, set against a backdrop reminiscent of the iconic 24 Faubourg Saint-Honoré in Paris.
