To up the glitter factor, there are 117 diamonds weighing about 0.99 carats set on the bezel and dial flange. There’s more, the crown is set with a cabochon-cut ruby weighing 0.27 carats. Red alligator leather strap with a buckle set with 26 diamonds finishes the elegant look.
Hublot
French men’s fashion house Berluti and Hublot have come together to design a model-based for the first time on the iconic Big Bang Unico chronograph. Here is what they did: Berluti contributes its iconic Venezia leather to the Big Bang Unico’s dial. The leather is between two pieces of sapphire glass, so that the Uni- co movement is visible. The movement is a chrono- graph with flyback function. The MHUB1242 calibre beats from within a case of 45mm diameter, and offers a 72-hour power reserve.
Montblanc
For the adventure-seeker friend, present him with the 1858 Geosphere Limited Edition that is created with mountaineer Reinhold Messner. The watch features two distinctive domed turning globes and its innovative world-time complication that is housed in a 42 mm special bronze alloy case with slim, curved horns in both polished and satin finishings. The dial comes in a gradient blue colour with rose gold-coat- ed and beige elements. The caseback depicts an im- age of the Mont Blanc mountain, the complete Mess- ner list, a compass, and two crossed ice pick axes. An engraving of Messner’s signature has also been specially added to the Limited Edition.
Hermès
Nothing speaks of true love than a diamond and sapphire timepiece such as the Arceau Petite Lune that has 87 sapphires and 68 diamonds sprinkled on the 38 mm steel case with a white mother-of-pearl dial. Also on the dial, azure blue stones surround a Moon set against a star-filled sky. The watch is powered by the Manufacture Hermès H1837 self-winding movement.
Jaeger-LeCoultre
The new Master Ultra Thin Tourbillon Moon combines two of horology’s most cherished complications: a moon phase and a tourbillon, with the signature peripheral “jumping” date. The whole creation comes together in a case made of Le Grand Rose gold, a new pink gold alloy that has a remarkable sheen and depth of colour. Set in the upper half of the dial, the astronomical complication displays the Northern Hemisphere moon phases in the traditional way. Surrounding this is a ring with applied Southern Hemisphere moon phases on the left and the Age of the Moon on the right, each indicated by a double-ended hand.
Vacheron Constantin
The new Traditionnelle tourbillon chronograph combines a monopusher chronograph and a tourbillon. The manufacturer’s developers have devised a novel movement mode for its carriage. Instead of being driven by the pinion of the fourth wheel, the tourbillon carriage is set in motion by an intermediate wheel of the running seconds display. This configuration enables an extremely wide opening onto the upper plate, thereby offering an even more spectacular view of the tourbillon. Timepiece gets its power from the Manufacture Calibre 3200.
Corum
The Golden Bridge turns 40 and with this milestone comes a new watch with a design that goes back to its rectangular case roots with the launch of two new limited-edition models: Golden Bridge Rectangle 40th Anniversary in 18k white gold and 18k rose gold. Both the watches fit beautifully on the wrist, unlike its model from 1980. The Golden Bridge Rectangle shows a time- less and discreet elegance, yet focuses on the functionality of its brilliant movement, leading the eye along the path of Caliber CO113’s energy transfer from spring barrel at 6 o’clock to the escapement at 12 o’clock.
