SINGAPORE (Feb 14): This week, we showcase some of the finest and elegant pieces to hit the market

Hermès
The Arceau Squelette timepiece was born in 1978, and the recognisable round case with its asymmetrical stirrup-shaped lugs and sloping font that represents a galloping horse is back in the latest iteration. The new design has the same round steel case in 40mm in diameter. It surrounds a smoked sapphire crystal dial in black gradient that has a transparent centre to reveal the watch’s inner workings. The watch gets its heartbeat from the mechanical self- winding movement made in Switzerland. Black, graphite, blue, Havana and etoupe alligator straps complete the overall elegant look.

Corum
Two new versions of the Golden Bridge by Corum have been launched, this time with a sprinkling of diamonds. Each diamond is carefully selected by craftsmen who meticulously place them in a beautiful order. The two models available in the snow setting are the Golden Bridge (34 x 51 mm barrel-shaped case) and the Miss Golden Bridge (21 x 43 mm). Each piece will be released in white gold and pink gold, for a total of 314 diamonds for the Golden Bridge and 245 diamonds for the Miss Golden Bridge, representing 2.68 ct and 1.28ct respectively.

Longines
The Longines Heritage Military 1938 is a timeless classic that harks back to an era where military watches were popular, especially among military personnel, as they needed accurate time to plan for battle. This latest offering is the reinterpretation of a military watch produced in 1938 and is part of the Longines Historical Collection. The watch is available with a patinated charcoal grey leather strap and a cognac-coloured Nato-style leather strap. A tool included in the case makes it easy to interchange them. Numbered and limited to 1,938 pieces, this reissue of the timeless classic gets its power from a hand-wound mechanical movement.

Panerai
The Panerai Luminor Marina Carbotech 44mm (PAM01661) timepiece is described as a watch with a Carbotech case and a sandwich dial with blue Super-LumiNova markings. This marks the very first time the collection combines the high-performance composite material developed by Panerai’s Laboratorio di Idee and the iconic Sandwich dial in vibrant touches of blue. Carbotech is a cutting-edge composite formed of superimposed layers of carbon fibre which are alternately aligned, then consolidated under pressure and controlled temperature with a binding formula. Movement of the watch is based on the automatic mechanical, P.9010 Calibre, 133⁄4 Lignes with a power reserve of three days.

Jaeger-LeCoultre
Valentine’s Day is over, but it is never too late to give a loved one the gift of time. What better way to show your love than through the Reverso Classic Large Duoface Small Seconds timepiece. The watch features two time zones; it is perfect for the modern-day couple who travels quite a bit for work. The iconic models feature the very recognisable Art Deco style which gives off a vintage vibe. Two versions, for him and her, are available.

G-Shock
May fortune smile on you as G-Shock releases three new limited models based on Manekineko, or the Japanese fortune cat. These handwaving cats are traditionally clad in a red apron, green collar and a gold bell. These colours are incorporated into the watches. For example in the DW-5600TMN version, the cat appears when the backlight is activated. Models come in the iconic square design while oval coins decorate the dial. The design of the DW-5600TMN-7DR (pictured) is based on a white fortune cat with a white bezel and red band.

Tissot
The Tissot Carson Lady and the Tissot Carson Gent are made for those who are about to embark on a career and need a reliable time-keeping companion. Bearing in mind that these customers are young and on the move, the designers added modern elements such as a rose gold PVD-coated steel case in 40mm in diameter, which houses a mechanical self-winding movement for the men’s watch. The women’s collection is 30mm in diameter and is paired with a five-link steel strap with a dial consisting of eight diamond hour markers, all of Top Wesselton quality.
