SINGAPORE (June 23): Shareholders of StarHub, long used to a regular and generous dividend payout, received some disappointing news this year.

In February, the telco announced that it would cut its annual dividend payment to 16 cents from 20 cents.

Since then, shares of StarHub have declined nearly 10%. That has brought the stock’s yield to a rather sizeable 7%, reflecting the heightened risk of further declines in the dividend.
