SINGAPORE (Oct 31): A majority of firms -- a weighted 77% -- in the manufacturing sector expects business situation in the next six months ending March 2018 to remain similar to a quarter ago.

On the other hand, a weighted 14% of manufacturers expects business conditions to improve while a weighted 9% foresees a deteriorating business outlook. Overall, a net weighted balance of 5% of manufacturers expects an improved business situation for the period Oct 2017 – March 2018, compared to the third quarter of 2017.

These were some of the findings from the EDB’s Business Expectations Survey of the Manufacturing Sector for Q4 2017 released on Tuesday.
