SINGAPORE (Dec 4): Activity in Singapore factories rose for the 13th consecutive month in November to hit its highest level in eight years, a survey showed on Monday.

The Singapore Institute of Purchasing & Materials Management's Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) rose to 52.9 from October's 52.6. A reading below 50 suggests contraction, while one above that level points to expansion.

November's PMI reading is the highest since December 2009, when the index was 53.3.
