SINGAPORE (July 4): Activity in Singapore factories expanded at a slightly faster pace in June, thanks to increases in new orders, new exports, inventory and factory output, a survey showed on Monday.

The Singapore Institute of Purchasing & Materials Management's Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) (SGPMI=ECI) rose to 50.9 from May's 50.8. A reading below 50 suggests contraction, while one above that level points to expansion.

"The latest reading was attributed to improvements in new orders, new exports, inventory, and factory output," the institute said.
