SINGAPORE (Jan 2): Sunpower Group’s wholly-owned subsidiary, Jiangsu Sunpower Technology, has secured an RMB41.5 million ($8.5 million) engineering, procurement & construction (EPC) contract from Xinjiang GCL New Energy Material Technology, a subsidiary of GCL-Poly Energy Holdings.

Sunpower expects a positive impact on its FY18 results upon delivery of the contract, under which it will provide EPC services to Xinjiang GCL’s wastewater treatment and Zero-Liquid-Discharge (“ZLD”) facility for Phase I of its polysilicon project, which has an annual production capacity of 60,000 tonnes.

In a Tuesday filing, the group highlights this as the second contract awarded by GCL to the group in a year, following an equipment supply contract awarded in May 2017.
