Sunpower unit wins concession to build steam generation plant in Xinjiang

SINGAPORE (Sept 18): Sunpower Group has been granted the concession to build and operate a steam power plant to generate electricity for companies in an industrial park in China.

Wholly-owned subsidiary Sunpower Clean Energy Investment (Jiangsu) Co. has entered into an agreement with Xingjiang county government, in Yuncheng city of Shanxi Province, to build the facility in the Xinjiang Economy Demonstration Park.

The project will involve the phased construction of boilers and electricity generators as well as steam distribution pipelines.
