SINGAPORE (Oct 2): Nico Steel is set to benefit from rising demand for lighter smartphones with better heat dissipation and shielding of components from signal interference, says Phillip Capital.

As smartphones enter the 5G era, the computing speed of processors will at least be 2.5 times faster from 4G which means more than twice the heat being disseminated.

Meanwhile, the number of antennas will increase to three to five to 20 to even 30. In addition, the increase in battery capacity to 9,000 mAh from 2,500-3,000 mAh and the use of wireless charging will heat up the battery and phone faster.
