SINGAPORE (June 7): A group of Indonesian militants who had planned to launch a rocket attack against the Marina Bay Sands (MBS) integrated resort from a hilltop in Batam island have been found guilty of a conspiracy to commit terrorism.

The East Jakarta District Court on Wednesday sentenced Gigih Rahmat Dewa, the alleged leader of the Batam-based Katibah Gonggong Rebus terrorist cell, to four years’ imprisonment.

His five accomplices – Hadi Gusti Yanda, Tarmidzi, Eka Saputra, Trio Syafidro, and Leonardo Hutajulu – will each serve three years in jail.
