Vard wins $59 mil contract to build open-sea fishing trawler

SINGAPORE (March 2): Vard Holdings, the shipbuilder of specialised vessels, has won a contract to build one open-sea trawler for NOK 350 million ($59 million).

The customer is Research Fishing Company located based on the Shetland Islands.

The trawler is designed by Skipsteknisk in Ålesund, Norway. It will also be built, equipped and completed in Norway. Delivery is scheduled from Vard Langsten in 3Q18.
