SINGAPORE (Feb 14): Vard Holdings on Tuesday announced it has secured a contract for the design and construction of a krill fishing vessel for Aker BioMarine in Norway.

Update: After an SGX query, Vard revealed on Feb 20 revealed the value of the contract to be roughly 750 million kroner ($127.4 million).

Specially developed for sustainable fishing operations in Antarctica, the vessel will measure 130 metres in length, with a beam of 23 metres.
