Strategically positioned off Terminal 1’s central concourse by Gate 23, Kyra Lounge is 744 square meters and accommodates over 150 guests. This oasis in the middle of a busy airport offers a welcome retreat, and is thoughtfully designed to help travellers relax and recharge. Natural light along with well-thought out interiors ensures a calming pre-flight experience.

Inspired Design
In collaboration with the acclaimed design firm Studio 5 International, the lounge’s interiors are inspired by the daily cycles of the sun and the natural environment. Each section of the lounge, from the lively bar to the serene relaxation zone, is made to offer varying energy levels tailored to all guests. The colour palette, transitioning from warm beiges to deep greens, captures the transient beauty of sunrise to sunset.

The lounge design centres around three forces—Crepuscular Rays, Waves, and Fireplace—that create a multi-sensory experience. Dynamic lighting simulates sunlight breaking through clouds, a wave-inspired ceiling feature reflects the ocean’s movement, and a central fireplace invites comfort and relaxation. Floor-to-ceiling windows provide sweeping views of aircraft and mountains, seamlessly blending indoor tranquillity with the beauty of the outdoors.

Sustainability
The design of Kyra Lounge features eco-conscious practices and materials such as solar fins installed on the windows to help regulate the lounge's temperature, reducing reliance on air conditioning and overall energy consumption. Additionally, the lounge features an innovative daylight harvesting system, an "open-loop" lighting control that adjusts artificial light intensity in response to natural light availability, leading to significant energy savings and enhanced guest comfort.

Further enhancing its sustainability credentials, Kyra Lounge utilizes regionally manufactured furniture, minimizing the carbon footprint associated with long-distance transportation.

Amenities and Hospitality
Kyra Lounge caters to the varied needs of travellers with dedicated relaxation areas and productivity zones, including a private sound-proof booth. Guests can enjoy meals in an expansive dining area, and the striking central bar made from reclaimed wood damaged by typhoons not only adds local character but also reflects principles of resilience and sustainability evident throughout the design.

In collaboration with art and technology specialists Digital Art Fair, the lounge features curated digital artworks from the Hong Kong-based collective The Chinese Dictionary, showcasing exceptional digital storytelling and creativity to enrich guests' experiences.

With a significant increase in passenger traffic at Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA), Kyra Lounge is perfectly positioned to meet the rising demand for premium airport experiences.
