Nestled in the heart of Sentosa Cove, the Green Collection by Elevation Developments offers luxury living in a zen-inspired home with one-of-a-kind views.

Designed by Rene Tan, co-founder of the award-winning, Singapore-based RT+Q Architects, the Green Collection fronts The Tanjong, one of Sentosa Golf Club’s two international championship golf courses. Four of the 20 strata-titled townhouses in the development have been put up for sale, EdgeProp Singapore reported on May 10.

Consistent with Tan’s detail-oriented, refined approach to design, the Green Collection is marked by distinctive touches and sleek proportions.

Inspired by the idea of a “high-rise building lying on its side”, the townhouses form a long row, rendered in natural colours and textures for an understated yet elegant appearance — the front facade is composed of limestone and timber, while glass curtain walls cover the opposite end facing the golf course to maximise views of the lush surroundings.

“The tectonic precision and intent in each fold, incision, and the opening define clearly the architectural elements of each unit,” said the jury at the 2013 Singapore Institute of Architects Awards, where the Green Collection won in the housing category.

“With simple yet strong control of the repetitive cladding, the impact of small differentiation by staggering and subtle variation is pleasantly evident, and adds depth and interest to the development,” it added.

The external landscape, by Japanese monk and garden designer Shunmyo Masuno, similarly makes the most of the Green Collection’s unique location. Masuno, whose aesthetic is distinctively zen, employed an eclectic yet minimal combination of plants, reflective pools and walkways throughout the development.

On the inside, each villa spans a strata area of between 6,500 sq ft and 7,500 sq ft, with four levels including a basement and attic (with a high-speed lift to make moving around the house a breeze). Five en-suite bedrooms means there is sufficient room to fit a large family comfortably, in addition to a helper’s room in the basement.

Designed by British celebrity interior designer Kelly Hoppen, the interiors are crisp yet warm, complementing the aesthetic language seen outside. Marble covers the floors of the first level, while the upper levels have oak flooring. Thanks to the double volume windows, each villa is bathed in natural light in the day, then transformed into a cosy intimate space at night.

With marble-coated walls and floors, each en-suite bathroom has a distinct design, adding a touch of personality and variety throughout the house. Upstairs, a roof terrace provides unfettered views of the fairway below.

Among the unique features in each villa are a central airwell at 60 Cove Drive, with a home office on the first floor converted from one of the en-suite bedrooms. Over at 28 Cove Drive, a private lap pool sits atop the roof, while the villa’s especially wide frontage means the golf course can be viewed from all rooms.
