The Minister for Finance, Lawrence Wong, has appointed Tan Choon Shian as the next chief executive of the Singapore Totalisator Board (Tote Board), announced the Ministry of Finance on March 29.

Tan, who is the current chief executive of Workforce Singapore (WSG), will replace the current chief executive, Fong Yong Kian, on July 1.

Fong, who held the role of chief executive at the Tote Board from Jan 1, 2014, will relinquish his appointment upon the completion of his own term.

Before his current role at WSG, Tan was also the principal and CEO of Singapore Polytechnic. Before his position at SP, Tan was the deputy managing director of the Economic Development Board (EDB).
