Retracing its roots from a contemporary perspective, Cartier’s latest high jewellery creations continue to climb into the astral realms
Since the early 20th century, Cartier has embraced an open-minded approach to design, largely credited to Louis Cartier, the second-generation heir known for his creativity and cultural curiosity. Some of his creations endure as design icons cherished today as a century ago. This unwavering pursuit of beauty and passion for global cultures continues to form the core of Cartier’s DNA.
Nature and exoticism consistently inspire Cartier’s creations. Le Voyage Recommencé, a high jewellery collection that debuted in 2023, interprets the maison’s creative odyssey from a contemporary perspective. Cartier recently enriched it with a new chapter, presenting unique creations that combine rare gemstones and visually arresting designs. Fresh interpretations of light and geometry are infused with Cartier’s distinctive representation of nature, rooted in the maison’s curiosity and quest for new horizons.
“Working with lines, volumes, colour palettes, inspiration from nature, and world cultures... We explore so many territories to push the boundaries of creation and discover new horizons. Like a journey that is repeated over and over again, continually drawing on the inexhaustible sources of Cartier inspiration,” says Jacqueline Karachi, director of high jewellery creation at Cartier, of this latest instalment of Le Voyage Recommencé.

PANTHÈRE CONFIANTE NECKLACE
Widely recognised as Cartier’s spirit animal, the panther has had a significant presence in the maison’s repertoire since 1914. The Panthère Confiante necklace offers a 2024 interpretation, using vibrant colours and voluminous proportions. Ribbed coral beads, peridot, diamond, and onyx complement precise graphic strokes mimicking real fur, while the hypnotic and feral glance of the panther is brought to life with emeralds. This infusion of contemporary elements enhances the traditional green, red, and black palette masterfully employed by Cartier over the years.
PILEO RING
The Pileo ring, drawing inspiration from the sea urchin, is meticulously designed around the 5.12-carat hexagonal diamond that graces its pinnacle. Rose-cut and brilliant-cut diamonds are strategically arranged in a spherical pattern, mirroring the spiny knobs of the echinoid, and contrasted with white gold studs. This creation exemplifies the creativity, boldness, and voluminous elegance synonymous with Cartier jewellery.
