SINGAPORE (Mar 15): AA Group Holdings, the manufacturer of loudspeaker parts, said wholly-owned subsidiary, Engineering Manufacturing Services (EMS), has been charged with an offence under the Workplace Security Act following a worksite accident.

The group is accused of failing to take sufficient preventive measures as were necessary to ensure the safety of the workers and contractor, namely Poh Huat Heng Corporation in carrying out painting works at a factory located at 60 Benoi Road.

EMS on Mar 13 attended a court hearing and the fine to be imposed is expected to be up to $0.13 million. The next court hearing is scheduled to be on May 10.
