SINGAPORE (July 13): CITIC Envirotech’s wholly-owned subsidiary Memstar has officially opened its $25 million highly automated membrane production facility located at Kian Teck Drive to meet rising demand for membrane-based water solutions globally.

CITIC Envirotech is a membrane-based water treatment solutions provider in China and the region. The new 5,100 sqm facility will serve as Memstar’s international headquarters and flagship membrane R&D centre.

With the completion of the new plant, which is supported by the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB), Memstar will create 50 new jobs and double the production capacity of its patented 3rd generation Thermally Induced Phase Separation (3G-TIPS) membranes to 10 million square meters per annum. Singapore is Memstar’s only production site for these high-tech membranes. Memstar also has production facilities in Mianyang, Sichuan Province, Nantong, Jiangsu Province as well as in Beijing, China.
