SINGAPORE (Aug 19): Domestic and foreign wholesale trade has fallen 20.5% and 16.6% in 2QFY2016, compared with 2QFY2015, according to figures from the Singapore Department of Statistics.

The declines were due partly to lower prices of petroleum and chemical products compared to 2QFY2015. Excluding petroleum, the declines fell 15.5% and 13.1% respectively.

On a seasonally adjusted quarter-on-quarter basis, domestic and foreign trade rose by 5.5% and 9.1% driven by higher prices of petroleum and chemical products. Excluding petroleum, domestic wholesale trade declined 2.2% and foreign wholesale trade increased 2.1%.
