SINGAPORE (Aug 2): Fifty-seven per cent of companies in Singapore have encountered employees who are physically present yet mentally absent, based on the survey findings by recruiter Robert Half.

The phenomenon is termed “inner resignation” and occurs more often in medium sized and larger companies with a headcount of over 150.

According to the annual study surveying 100 Chief Financial Officers and finance directors in Singapore, 68% of medium to large sized organisations said they have seen it happen. This contrasts with 32% of small organisations.
