Hong Kong shares rise at open
HONG KONG (May 16): Hong Kong stocks opened higher Monday morning, in line with a broad regional advance and following sharp losses last week.
The Hang Seng Index in Hong Kong added 0.59%, or 117.07 points, to 19,836.36.
But the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index dropped 0.37%, or 10.33 points, to 2,816.78, while the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, fell 0.30%, or 5.39 points, to 1,778.94.
